An Exciting Delivery

Today, our new couch was delivered! Jim and I ordered it from Old Brick Furniture in January after scouring local furniture stores for a tan/brown microfiber sectional.  In my opinion, Old Brick is by far the most reasonably priced store in the area where you can buy high quality furniture. If money were no option, I would head to Stickley every time I needed a new
piece, but this is the real world :)

Perhaps even better than the prices and selection is the fact that the salespeople don't harass you the minute you walk in the door. Their commission structure is tailored such that there isn't competition among the sales team and, thus, you don't have to worry about the slimy used car dealership vibe. We've purchased quite a few items from them over the years and have always been pleased with the results. I'm guessing this is why Times Union readers have voted Old Brick the Best Furniture Store in the Capital Region four years in a row!

Jim and I both agreed this couch was the most comfortable one we sat on. The minute you sit down, you just want to close your eyes...not good if you're in a furniture store, or trying to watch a movie. I especially love the pillows sewn into the arm and the chaise section. As you can see from the throw pillows (thank you Marshall's), I decided to go with a sage green accent color. I'm hoping to find similarly hued valances to complete the room. At the moment, I'm eyeing these, but since we will need eight valances (4 windows), I'm holding off for now.
Buster is clearly thrilled about the prospect of a new couch - ha!
Our only worry is the impact of Buster's fur. I'm hoping we can keep him contained to one area, but I have a feeling I will be vacuuming the cushions quite frequently. As for the leather couch, chair and ottoman, they will be moved into the formal living room since they were never intended to be everyday pieces. Maybe that will give us the motivation to start getting that room in order!
